Why Good Government is like a good Operating System

KISS – Government is Stupid, so Keep it Simple, Stupid
It needs to be small
It needs to stay out of the way so we can get work done
It needs to be stable
It needs to keep intruders out
It doesn’t need to be a waste of money
It needs to keep us safe from harm (our data safe)
People should contribute to it to make it better than it used to be (yay for open source… it keeps people accountable)
It doesn’t need to manage us – or micro-manage us
The OS/government exist to service us, not the other way around
They are both a necessary evil
If we don’t fight them, they will take over everything
Both can be unnecessarily complex
Both exist to give us freedom, not limit our freedom. I should be free to create whatever I want on the computer. I should be free to do what I want in life or with my finances, as long as I am not evil or killing people.
