National Clean Hands Week
I find it disturbing how so many people do not wash their hands after using the bathroom. I work at a fortune 500 company and I have observed hundreds of men leave the bathroom without washing their hands. I have seen guys with Ph.D’s and some of the most intelligent and “best in the business” type system administrators with this disgusting habit. How can such educated people (some of whom I respect a great deal for their work in the data center) be so callous about this? It isn’t hard and doesn’t take much time. Studies show that it is the number one preventative measure that you can take to keep from getting sick.
I don’t even want to think about how many of the kids in the youth group don’t wash their hands. There was a study of the American Journal of Infection Control in 1997 that said that 42% of girls and 52% of boys in Jr. High and High School don’t wash their hands after they use the restroom.
